KWC Sig Sauer P226

Picture
hello and welcome to our review on the KWC Sig Sauer P226. this is one of the many P226's on the market and comes in at roughly £20 or £30 in a package that includes a target. the gun comes in a half box/ half polystyrene package, the cardboard portion of the packaging is of fairly decent quality and serves its perpose perfectly. unlike our other reviews i'll mention whats included in the box here as there is only a user manual included, nothing else. the manual is a standard KWC instruction manual with basic safety information and warranty information. just fairly standard information really.

so heres a few specs before we move onto the rest of the review.

                                                                   The Pistol

As stated above this is a full plastic model, and the finish isn't half bad, there isn't any play in the body of the pistol and the gun feels nice and solid in the hand. the plastic is fairly good quality aswell, as far as the slide goes there are no visible mould lines on either the front of the slide or along the top of the slide, this i thought was a nice touch because as you targeting the pistol you can't see a single mould line at all. The lower body of the pistol is also fairly good quaility, it has been finished great and the two halfs of the moulded body have been joined perfectly, mould lines have been cleaned off to a high standard and aren't visible unless you look for them. the only issue i could find with the pistol was that in my own opinion i thought the plastic was a bit shiney, not to the point that it was clearly a replica but it wasn't the dull look that you would get with a metal replica or a replica that is made from a matt finish plastic. as far as the construction was concerned this was the only issue i could find.

There are a few working features on this pistol, not all of them true to the real steel P226 but nether the less they're there. As you would expect from any bb pistol the magazine release button is fully functional and exactly where you would expect it to be on the real steal. the main difference with reguards to working features on this pistol is the safety switch, what would have been the de-cocking lever on the real pistl is used as the safety catch, it is fully functional and locks the trigger clean in place stopping the pistol from being fired. i thought that although that is wasn't true to the real weapon that it was a great way of utalising existing features on the pistol rather than having then as solid moulded on features that served no function.

Overall this is a really nice, cheap replica thats a welcome addition to any collection. although the plastic may seem a bit shiney it still looks very similar to a metal finished weapon, i've tried to show this in the picture to the left. although this isn't the most powerful weapon on the market and its just spring powered you can still have fun with it just pinking cans, but this pistol is not really suitable for airsofting or any other combat games. my personal reccomendation is that unless you want this gun to add to a collection it would be better to find another pisstol, its a great collectors piece, but not anything more than that. but for roughly £20, you can't complain, great value for money.
